The midwinter school break is almost here. Many will be heading
off to warmer climates Feb. 20 to 26, but for those sticking the
cold out in Central New York, there are many events to choose from.
Some of the activities are great for getting in quality family time,
while others are designed for working parents who want their children
to have a fun vacation while still exercising their bodies and minds.
The biggest event is Winterfest, going on in downtown Syracuse Feb.
18 to 27.
There will be activities appealing to every age group throughout
the week, including a chili and chowder cook-off, ice sculpting
contests and horse-drawn wagon rides. Plus, most activities are
free, making the event even more enjoyable. For more information,
call 473-4330 or 466-9468.
