If
you dread snow, hate scraping ice off your windshield, and feel
sad when the weather is dreary, you may be a perfect candidate for
a warm winter retreat. There are many ways to escape winter and
enjoy summer regardless what time of year it is. Whether you prefer
to retreat this winter in a big way, or are trying to retreat on
a small budget, you can enjoy warm weather while your friends and
family are bundled up by the fire at home.
Some winter retreats are expensive and are only available to those
with a big budget. If you are one of these people, though, you can
enjoy winter retreats like you have never imagined. The sky is the
limit and you can go anywhere in the world that is warm this time
of year to relax and have a good time. Think Australia, Africa,
or anywhere else in the southern hemisphere. The locals of these
places enjoy Christmas on the beach, and now you can too! It is
best to book a trip like this as far in advance as possible, though.
With the holidays being the busiest travel season of the year, booking
your winter retreat early can ensure your flight and hotel, as well
as save you some money.
Another option for a winter retreat is a cruise. You can choose
a Caribbean cruise and enjoy the warm weather while spending all
your time on the ocean. This is often a wonderful time to go because
there is more space (and often cheaper availability) than any other
time of year. Choose from a couple of days on the ocean to as much
time as three weeks. There are destinations to the Bahamas, Jamaica,
and several more to choose from.
If you prefer not to go too far, are working out your winter retreat
on a small budget, or have any other reason for needing to stay
in the states, you can still enjoy a warm winter. There are many
destinations within the United States that can allow you mellow
temperatures and fun in the sun.
California offers a wide variety of attractions and fun for wintertime
that you may never be able to enjoy at home. Southern California
stays fairly warm all winter long, and you can relax beachside or
visit one of the many tourist attractions. Florida offers similar
activities, and provides many shopping opportunities as well. Hawaii
offers one of the more coveted winter retreats, and has many beaches
on any of the islands you may choose to visit.
As you can see from the above choices, there is no reason you have
to be stuck indoors this winter. All you have to do to take advantage
of a warm winter retreat is save a little, plan in advance, and
pack your shorts and flip flops!
