Extreme Sledding

As
the snow comes down from the sky winter after winter, new and improved
ways to get an adrenaline rush on the slopes are introduced into
the world of outdoor winter sports. Originally, items like sleds,
skis and other smooth surfaced boards were made from barrel staves
and logs tied together to transport items across the snow.
Nowadays, we enjoy the luxury of sledding down the hills as a mere
winter leisure. Activities like sledding, snowboarding and snowmobiling
can be enjoyed by the whole family for winter fun.
There is no true definition of extreme sledding, but many of us
like to think we have defined it! From the youngest wobbler to the
most experienced sledder, we all have our own ways of performing
extreme sledding!
Going beyond what you have done before is basically the point at
which you can consider yourself to have done some extreme sledding.
Some may call it stupid, others call it extreme sledding. For example:
- Sledding down the steepest hills you can find
- Amongst trees and shrubbery (dangerous, yes,
but extreme!)
- Having your dog pull you down the hill
- Making huge jumps
- Covering a picnic tale or bench at the bottom
of a hill with snow, for the ultimate jump
Extreme sledding is up to you—how you do and with what sled!
