Classic Flyer Sled

Classic Flyer Sled.  Remember those strong old Flexible Flyers, the ones that refused to break? The Mountain Boy Classic Flyer Sled is what a runner sled should be: tough, with thick kiln-dried planks of beautiful northern birch and extra-thick powder-coated steel runners.  Mountain Boy paid particular attention to the "knees," the bent steel parts that connect the runners to the top.  On mass-market runner sleds, these are the weakest point and collapse easily.  On the Classic Flyer, the knees are made of extra-think steel designed to handle lots of abuse. 

Letter engraving is available to personalize your sled - choose a first name, a family name or be creative!  Usually adds 1-2 days to shipping time.

Mountain Boy uses only stainless-steel bolts, and have incorporated the pivot-front design of our Ultimate Flyer to increase the sled's turning power. This year, willow handrails were added for better grip.  This heirloom-quality sled is designed to last for more than one lifetime.

What's the difference between the Classic Flyer and the Ultimate Flyer? 
The Classic Flyer has power-coated steel runners, great to glide through ice or snow.
The Ultimate Flyer has a pair of proprietary, custom-molded plastic skids great for floating over soft snow, but also has contouring that will allow gripping into hard packed snow or ice.

The Classic Flyer meets all ASTM and USC child safety criteria. The marine-grade finish is lead-free.
