Detailed Description

The Mountain Glider is made of beautiful stained birch planks, with stainless steel hardware and elegant birch handrails. The patent-pending design follows our Ultimate Flyer, with a pivoting front section that gives exceptional turning power.

On the bottom of the sled, we attach a pair of proprietary, custom-molded plastic skids. Their shape allows for smooth, decisive turning, and contoured runners bite into the snow or ice so you can carve down hard-packed slopes. The solid bottom of custom-molded slippery plastic lets the sled float through soft snow.

A sled pad is also available for the Mountain Glider. Just select pad from the options menu (please note +$29.99). The pad is also available seperatley.
We have a fantastic local artist here in Silverton, Colorado who can paint a child's name (or an adult's!) onto any Mountain Boy sled. Just select the name option and then add the persons name in the personilaztion box. (Hand Lettering +$49.99)

People often ask us the difference between the Mountain Glider and Ultimate Flyer. The performance of the two sleds is very similar, but their look is different: the Mountain Glider has canoe-style handrails made from birch planks, while the Ultimate Flyer has hand-carved willow handrails. The Mountain Glider also has a handle and handrails that are the same color as the rest of the sled, while on the Ultimate Flyer the handle and handrails are a lighter color.

The Mountain Glider meets all ASTM and USC child safety criteria. Please contact us if you'd like a copy of the independent test results.
